Craniosacral therapy is a comprehensive, holistic body therapy. It
combines scientific insights and precise anatomical knowledge with the
finely trained, intuitive perception of the therapist.
The craniosacral therapy was developed on the basis of osteopathy.
It is based on two points: the cranium (skull) and the sacrum (sacral
bone). Between those two points cerebrospinal fluid flows rhythmically.
This rhythm is carried throughout the whole body and influences the
development and functioning of the entire person.
The craniosacral
therapist senses these rhythmic motions. Guided by these detected
rhythmic movements and the inner wisdom of the body of the client, the
craniosacral therapist gives gentle impulses to encourage a deep
relaxation and activating self-regulation of the body.
Craniosacral therapy can basically contribute to promoting the balance
between body, mind, spirit and the environment at any point in life.
Persons of any age from new born to elderly people can be treated by with craniosacral therapy.
